Mike Sexton
Mike Sexton began playing poker at the age of 13 and has been a professional poker player since 1977. He’s won numerous titles in his career including the 1989 “Seven Card Stud 8 or Better” event at the WSOP and the 2006 WSOP Tournament of Champions for $1,000,000.
Alongside Vince Van Patten, he has been a commentator on the World Poker Tour since its inception 14 years ago, created two mega events in poker (the TOC and the PartyPoker Million), and is a spokesman for PartyPoker.com.
He was a columnist for Card Player magazine for ten years, has written articles for various publications, has conducted numerous poker seminars, and his book Shuffle Up and Deal made the NY Times best-seller list (2005).
He was honored with the first-ever Poker Ambassador Award in 2006, received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Poker Awards in Feb 2016, and received poker’s highest honor in 2009 - induction into the Poker Hall of Fame.
